Candle of the Month: Victorian Rose
Montana and Oregon have some rose fossil records dating back some 35 million years. Before cultivation became a way of life for roses, they typically bloomed only once a year. Now, though, a tremendous variety of roses are available to us through florist shops by way of rose farms like every single day of the year.

Historically, roses have been used in incredibly extravagant ways. Cleopatra once received her beloved Marc Antony in a room literally knee-deep in rose petals. The Romans thought nothing of carpeting their huge banquet halls with rose petals.

The month of June has been set aside as National Rose Month since 1969. Over 4,000 songs about roses have been written!

The rose is a popular design theme for clothing, silver, china, carpets, tapestries and rugs. Fairy tales carry themes of roses to children. Grimm’s Beauty and the Beast, for example, characterizes the rose that Beauty’s father picked in the Beast’s castle garden. In Alice in Wonderland, the gardeners painted white roses red to please the Queen of Hearts.

Home Parties: A Booming Part of Our Business!
”I booked my first Scent-Sations party at the end of October. I’ve booked four more since then and have had over $1,800 in sales plus I’ve booked even more parties from those who attended. I really believe that the key to success is to book other parties from a party! What I really like best about the whole program is that the candle is a consumable item and people continue coming back for MORE and its really fantastic to be able to have fun while earning money!”

Training Hints from Top Retailers
“The smell and sell demo has been my favorite way to market the candles. I use the votives as a “come-on” to market the candles and to book some fundraiser's. I’ve even gotten retail sales by simply handing out tri-fold brochures. The re-order rate has been outstanding!”
-Sandra Sutters, PA

“I’m currently using my “warm list” and I’m calling ALL my friends. I tell them I’ve been introduced to a new kind of candle that is cleaner burning. When they hear my enthusiasm they are “hooked” and want to know more. Almost all of them purchase the candles and some are now enrolling in the program! I’m starting to focus more attention on the fundraising aspect and already the response has been great!”

Training Hint:
“I talk to EVERYONE. I carry flyers and hand them out. I’m very busy with my job and my personal life so I usually rely on people to contact me first. When they express an interest I take a dozen different scented votives and two or three 16 oz jar candles to their home or office and do the smell and sell demo. My focus is on sponsoring them into the program. I tell them that the candle really does sell itself and its probably the easiest way to make money I’ve ever seen. When a person enrolls I tell them that they need to order the Candle of the Month PLUS a sample case of the best sellers! That way they are in business right away!”

Distributor of the Month: Melissa Stallings, MD
I will never forget the day I got a phone call from Shellie Edwards telling me she had “found it!” That “it” was something we were both looking for…..a home based business with real products, good profit margins, credibility and corporate support.

After telling me a little bit about Scent-Sations she strongly advised I call the corporate office immediately and talk to the management team. I did and I could tell from that call that this company and its business opportunity was very, very real!

The day the candles arrived, I hurriedly ripped open the box and when I pulled the products out I was amazed at how beautiful they looked and how “real” every scent smelled.

I saw my neighbor pulling into her driveway and I immediately ran over to show her the candles. She “smelled” and I “sold”…3 Mia Bella Candles, to be exact! Just then, another neighbor came over wanting to know what we were so excited about. As a few more people from the neighborhood gathered, I ended up with my first “unplanned” home party and it was outside in a driveway!!!! It took about 20 minutes to sell my entire stock and to also write up 10 more orders!

I was amazed. I’ve been in direct marketing for many years but I’ve never seen anything sell so fast. In fact, this is the first marketing program I’ve been involved with where I was able to be in profit from day one!!! When I read that tiny slogan at the bottom of the scent-team web site that says “Where making money is a daily event” I simply smile because I know in THIS company that slogan is NOT hype!!!!

Selling products has been a breeze because the smell and sell demonstration is so easy to do…..I mean, who doesn’t want to smell a scented candle when its placed in someone’s hands????

Looking back I’m so glad that Shelly called me and I’m so glad I called corporate. The business has been every thing both of them said it would be. I know that the key to a successful business is products and timing, and with Scent-Sations I have both.

Word of mouth marketing is powerful. If you are afraid to talk to people I would suggest you get over it, because the smell and sell demo is so easy! I also suggest that you do some form of advertising in your local area whenever possible!

Bob Schmitz gets a Big Welcome to Wilkes-Barre, PA!
After working 9 years for a major airline, Bob decided to exit the corporate rat race and bought a franchise. Eight years later, he opened one of the first video stores on Long Island. When the video store industry peaked, Bob sold his stores and was financially in a position where he could focus on his creative passions: he became a full-time sculptor and artist.

In 1987 Bob purchased a product from an independent distributor of a direct selling company. Bob became intrigued by that company because he loved its products, and when he saw the income potential he became a distributor himself.

"I was like a sponge for information and tried to duplicate what the successful distributors did. I worked very hard and stayed focused and attended and participated in every event." Two and a half years later, Bob reached the top level in that company and earned over $1.4 million over a two year period.
"Part of the reason for that," Bob says, "is that the company I was with hit critical mass and a company-wide explosion of growth occurred. My sales organization grew proportionately."

After a few years, a change in personal life and the nature of the business prompted Bob to join another company. That is where he became involved in Bob and Charlie's sales organization, and early on became the top earner in the company and was eventually the first to reach the highest distributor level with approximately 75% of the distributor force in his sales organization.

Certain situations with that company prompted Bob, Bob Scocozzo and Charlie Umphred to leave that company and join another company where they quickly moved up in the sales organization. During his time in the second company, Bob developed a personal development training program called "Mind set to Millionaire in Network Marketing," which was sold through his seminars, network marketing companies, and magazines.

“Sometimes some companies are not managed by people with integrity, and this type of experience prompted me to "retire" from the industry to once again develop my "passion" which is art,” said Bob. “I’ve been represented in numerous galleries in the Atlanta and Florida markets, and my work is in the personal collections of numerous art collectors.”

"When Bob, Charlie, Carmen, and Lynn started developing the Scent-Sations program, I was intrigued by what they were doing. I signed into the candle of the month program and purchased some cases of candles, but didn't get involve in the business because the timing just wasn't right for me to get back into network marketing.

"In the last six months, Bobby called me almost every day and kept me posted on the progress of the company and the positive results that people were having selling the candles through fundraiser's, home parties, and other venues. I began thinking more and more about getting involved."

After a two-day trip to the home office in Wilkes-Barre Pa, and spending time with his old friends Bob realized that this program was “too lucrative and too much fun to miss out on!”

"I believe totally that this company has the winning formula for long term success, and the direct sales approach is the key to that success. People selling candles and body bars and making a good retail profit is important. What is even more important to those who want to create true wealth is to sponsor and train others to do the same. Building a network in this program with its "low attrition" will allow some people to create fortunes in the future years to come," Bob states. "I am grateful for this opportunity. That is why I moved to Wilkes-Barre within 3 weeks of my visit. I am committed to see an explosion of growth with Scent-Sations and I am happy to be a part of helping all of you build organizations that will hit "critical mass" and allow you to live your wildest dreams," Said the happy new Pa. Resident!
